1. Reservations & Payment
- A valid government-issued photo ID and credit card are required at check-in, in accordance with the Hotel Registration of Guests Act (Ontario).
- Full payment may be required at the time of booking or check-in, depending on rate terms.
- All rates are in Canadian dollars and subject to HST (13%) unless otherwise stated.
2. Check-In / Check-Out
- Check-in: 3:00 PM
- Check-out: 11:00 AM
- Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability and may incur a fee.
- Guests who do not vacate by check-out time may be charged for an additional night.
3. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
- Standard bookings can be cancelled or modified without penalty up to 48 hours before arrival.
- No-shows or late cancellations will incur a charge equal to the first night’s stay.
- Non-refundable bookings are not eligible for cancellation, refund, or modification as allowed under the Consumer Protection Act (Ontario) for time-sensitive accommodations.
4. Guest Identification & Registration
- All guests must be registered at check-in, with full name and address as required by Ontario law.
- Only registered guests may occupy rooms overnight.
5. Guest Conduct
- Guests are expected to respect the comfort and safety of others.
- Quiet hours are in effect from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, per Toronto Municipal Code § 591 (Noise Bylaw).
- Smoking, vaping, and cannabis use are strictly prohibited indoors under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.
- Illegal activity on premises will be reported and may result in immediate removal without refund.
6. Damages, Liability & Security
- Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused to rooms, furnishings, or shared spaces.
- The hotel is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items. Use of in-room safes is strongly recommended.
- Security cameras may operate in common areas for guest safety and property protection, in accordance with Ontario privacy regulations.
7. Shared Amenities
- The shared kitchen, lounge, and laundry are available to registered guests during posted hours.
- Laundry is included and accessible between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM daily.
- Guests must clean up after themselves when using shared spaces.
8. Visitors & Occupancy
- Visitors are welcome in shared spaces but must depart by 10:00 PM.
- No unregistered overnight guests are permitted without prior approval.
9. Street Parking
- Limited street parking is available and subject to City of Toronto signage and enforcement. The hotel is not responsible for parking tickets or towing.
10. Pets
- Pets are not permitted unless approved in writing before arrival. Service animals are welcome, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
11. Right to Refuse or Remove
- Hyphen Hotel reserves the right to cancel bookings or remove guests who violate these terms or Ontario law, or whose behaviour presents a risk to staff, property, or other guests. No refund will be issued in such cases.
12. Identity Verification
To abide by all legal requirements and building security rules, you may be asked to provide a copy of your official government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact information, provide a valid credit card with a name that matches your ID, pass through our verification portal and, in some instances, complete a criminal background check.
Important note: The information is collected for screening and verification only and is not stored or used for any other purposes.
Please be advised that all guests will be asked to sign a rental usage agreement that governs the terms of the stay. By completing the reservation you agree to the following:
- You agree to be bound by our rental terms and conditions.
- You acknowledge that you will be required to provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID and matching credit card prior to check-in.
- You acknowledge that you may be required to undergo a background check if mandated by the property management company or the building, as stated in accordance with your rental agreement and the condition of the booking.
- You understand that your check-in instructions might be withheld until you have successfully completed our verification portal.
